A Faithful Yes: Celebrating a Foster Family Who Makes a Lasting Impact
At Arkansas Baptist Children & Family Ministries, we are continually reminded that God works through ordinary people who say “yes” to extraordinary callings. Earlier this year, we had the privilege of recognizing Jeffrey and Paulette “Dee” Tipton of Area 5 as a Connected Families Foster Family of the Month.
Since 2022, Jeff and Dee have been faithfully serving children through foster care at the Arkansas Baptist Ranch. In just a few short years, their home has become a place of refuge, stability, and hope for many, especially large sibling groups who might otherwise face separation. With open hearts, they have walked alongside children on their journeys toward permanency, offering not just care, but belonging.
Their willingness to serve goes even further. Jeff and Dee have opened their home for respite placements, including one-night stays to ensure that no child had to spend the night in an office. In moments when immediate needs arise, they respond with compassion and action. They have also stepped in to support teens during transitional seasons, providing stability while adoptive homes were being prepared and have welcomed a local teen who has since become like family.
At the center of their home is a commitment to Christ. Jeff and Dee intentionally cultivate an environment rooted in integrity, prayer, and time in God’s Word. Through Bible songs, daily conversations, and consistent example, they are planting seeds of truth and faith in the hearts of the children in their care. They are attentive to each child’s unique needs, advocating persistently and faithfully until those needs are met.
Foster care is not without sacrifice, and the Tiptons embody what it means to give selflessly. They pour their time, energy, and resources into caring well for every child placed in their home. Currently, they are caring for a sibling group of four along with a teenage girl, each one receiving the same steady love and intentional support.
We are deeply grateful for Jeff and Dee’s faithfulness and the way they reflect Christ’s love to children every single day. Their dedication has not gone unnoticed they were also recently named the DCFS Area 5 Foster Parents of the Year, a testament to their impact and commitment.
Stories like theirs remind us that foster care is more than a system, it’s a ministry. It’s families opening their doors, trusting God, and walking alongside children in both the hard and the hopeful moments.
If you’ve ever wondered how you can make a difference in the life of a child, Jeff and Dee’s story is a beautiful example of what it looks like to answer that call.
