Strengthening Hope and Healing Through Partnership

At Arkansas Baptist Children & Family Ministries, we believe that healing happens best in community. That is why we are deeply grateful for our partnership with Heart of Arkansas United Way as a United Way Funded Partner.

Through a recent Community Investment grant, Living Well Professional Counseling has been able to expand and strengthen the care we provide to individuals and families across our community. This support has allowed us to:

  • Outfit a dedicated sand therapy room

  • Certify two additional counselors in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Expand our trauma-informed care services

Each of these investments directly impacts the people we serve. For children processing difficult experiences, sand therapy creates a safe and developmentally appropriate space to express emotions that may feel too overwhelming for words. For individuals navigating trauma, EMDR offers a research-based, effective pathway toward healing and restoration. Expanded trauma-informed care ensures that every person who walks through our doors is met with compassion, understanding, and clinical excellence.

As a Christ-centered family services ministry, our calling is not only to provide professional counseling, but to offer it with depth, accessibility, and faith-rooted hope. Because of this grant, we are able to serve with greater capacity and intentionality—meeting individuals and families right where they are.

Recently, Ariel Brown and Tonya Larmoyeux, along with board members Jimmy Gassaway and Dawne Carroll, had the privilege of welcoming our United Way partners for a presentation and tour. It was a meaningful opportunity to share how their investment is actively transforming lives. We are especially grateful that Heart of Arkansas United Way has chosen to fund this program again, affirming their trust in the work being done through Living Well Professional Counseling.

Partnerships like this remind us that we are stronger together. When organizations unite around a shared commitment to community well-being, hope grows. Healing deepens. Families are strengthened.

We are thankful to stand as a United Way Funded Partner, working together to bring Christ-centered hope and professional care to those who need it most.
